ICE ICE DIVA

Last year has been an eventful one for me.

I had my wedding.

Every piece of memory is incredibly beautiful, but I did not have enough space in my mind to delve into a big topic for my creative process.

After I came back from the honeymoon, I started collecting images of things I love the most.

So it is an ode to everything that the designer loves.

It always starts with - dance.

Since childhood, I always loved to dance. Even now I practice ballet and contemporary dance, now I consider it to be my lifelong passion and craft to work on.

My first subject was Sylvie Guillem. I lost my chance of seeing her last performance at Sadler's Wells, because I was not in town.
She started out as a gymnastics student, then switched to ballet, to become the youngest étoile at the Paris Opera Ballet.
I knew her by the powerful performance and the physical abilities, but while searching for the images and the repertoires, I found that she is way more versatile than I knew.
Whatever role she was playing, she stretched it to the max and left an unforgettable impression to the audience.

The archives of vintage lingerie always help me concentrate on the details.
The structure, precise details, perfect curves, and the use of materials …
I think it helped me to explore the subject of ‘femininity’ early on.
You could say it suppressed women's body, but it also maximises its beauty, and the object itself is a duplicate of the natural beauty.

Figure skating is not something that I know much about.

I sometimes looked into the 'skate shoes' as an object, though, because its utility details and functionality interested me.
And since I have always been a dancer, figure skating was the first thing I looked up whenever there were winter olympic games, without noticing it.

So this time I decided to weave the images of a figure skater to the collection.
Silk satin, sprinkles of Swarovski crystals, and the swirling shapes are the evidences of such an exploration.
I enjoyed it very much.

The "ICE ICE DIVA" collection is made of several drops of products, I created designs whenever they came into my mind, although I always had the theme and the colour palette.

It was more liberating in a way, I just made the shoes along the flow, then collected them in one place.

GINGER 70 is a 7cm heel version of our signature ballerina shoes, GINGER.
I used tweed fabric in soft colours and nappa sheepskin, and for the tweed ones, I tied the knots in double layers so they look more voluminous.

You should also discover the new slingback series - in 5cm and 9cm heels.
With or without the ribbons depending on the colour mood you go for, but whichever you choose, the silhouette and the fit are going to be perfect.

For the photoshoot, we made a set to create the sky and the ice facing each other.

I am very lucky to have such a talented photographer as a friend - we talked about the collection and started telling stories together. We always come up with a unified idea by the end of our conversation.

And Voilà !

I hope the exquisite world of ICE ICE DIVA will make your attitude shine even more.

Thank you very much, always.
