KATRINA was first introduced for the 'Ice Phoenix' collection, Summer 2022. Birds are one of my core subjects, and I was focused on how they are designed to movehow their body is constructed to be able to flyand thought they were almost like 'flying machines'. Wall paintings in ancient tombsand folk paintings were other sources of inspiration.Those imaginary birds almost feel like they existed when the artworks were made. Then I came up with this combination of diferent knots, and tied around a last.When my friend came over, she asked what it was - that it was very beautiful.So here it is, KATRINA came to life.
