Behind the scene - MARGUERITE Shooting

Hello everyone -

This is Blog Pleiades again.

It feels like little belated posting, but I wanted to share beautiful scenes from our
MARGUERITE shooting with you.

I do Pleiades shootings myself with a photographer who is also a good friend of mine.

When I was doing research for my very first collection, I visited a bookstore flipping through pages of photography books.

Then I accidentally found this little photo book full of beautiful pictures
portraying young girls spending their high school final year together at school.
It was the photographer herself taking pictures of her friends while she was actually a part of the scene.

Immediately fell in love, I purchased the book and brought it to my studio.
And soon after that, I contacted the photographer asking if she could take part in my first ‘campaign’ shooting.

She said yes. And our creative friendship began.

The MARGUERITE pictures might look a little more ordinary compared to our previous seasons.

I wanted to create shoes and images that can instantly bring a full, beaming smile to everyone’s face.

The objects used for the shooting are from my personal collection, most of them I’ve collected over years and some of them inherited from my grandmother.
So they’re from Milan, London, Seoul and the States, and from different times !

We rented a natural light studio and spent one afternoon together,
playing around with objects and shoes.

“I wanted to create shoes and images that can instantly bring a full, beaming smile to everyone’s face.”

At first, we tried with a basic setting with flowers and shoes, by the sunlight.

We very much enjoyed the sun beam passing through wine bottles,
and the dramatic contrast the natural light creates.

I tried to express the sun-kissed mood of MARGUERITE season with exotic fruit - such as dragonfruit, pomegranate and lime, along with sumptuous bouquets of roses, tulips and daisies.

When I enjoy making something so much, I wish people could have the same kind of joy as well.
Or even a bigger one :D

I try to avoid making things in too much of a nostalgic mood.
The collection and the photos were very much like my personal diary, but I wanted to portray them in a stylish and unique way.

My photographer friend had many novel ideas, so we could come up with some creative shots.
Guess which ones I am talking about ?

Although summer has passed more than halfway, we are still enjoying our happily bright MARGUERITE season :)

Hope you are too !

I have many pictures and ideas behind the collection,
and I am trying to deliver them to you in a better way, every season.

Please stay tuned, enjoy our creations, and have a wonderful summer !🌷🌿✨
