PLEIADES at WHITE SHOW Milano
September 2022, at Milan Fashion Week.
PLEIADES joined the White Show at Via Tortona 27, as a part of the ‘White Cube’ designers.
Among tall, white and square walls, designers created their own spaces to welcome the guests.
’White Cube’ is a selection of shoe designers who offer something new to the market, hand-picked by the White Show panels.
The show lasted for 4 days, from 22nd to the 26th September.
Due to the customs issues, we had most of our samples arrived late - but the White Show team had been very supportive along the way of solving the problems.
It was a joyful occasion where everyone could enjoy, under the bright blue sky -
PLEIADES presented the latest “SILENCE AND CHAOS” collection, as well as our signature shoes, including : TASHA, GINGER, LUNA and KATRINA.
The new series of boots were a big hit, while the steady-sellers TASHA and GINGER were much loved, too.
KATRINA are capturing the eyes of the audience, all the time.
I was very happy to see that the new series of boots are being loved by the buyers in Europe, especially because it was the first season that I made knee-high boots.
I tried to make the ones that I would wear, ‘CHARLOTTE’ with a wrinkly soft shape and ‘CINDY’ with bold elements with a touch of velvet.
The new boots with hand-tied knots left good impressions on the visitors, too.
The venue was an open space, where you could freely walk around.
Music was played everywhere, and the white tunnel at the entrance led to the main exhibition space.
I especially enjoyed our lunch time that I could enjoy in the yard, while DJ playing the music.
With the coffee being served all day outside, it didn’t feel like an ordinary trade show.
It was a great joy to be back in the beautiful city of Milan, it reminded me of my school days at Marangoni.
I busily walked around the city with a heavy bag, my “black book” (a sketchbook which Marangoni students purchased from an art shop in Brera), and a big dream.
It was meaningful for me to bring my own collection to the city where I grew up as a designer, the city that always makes me feel energised.
Although I did not have much extra time, I could feel the city while going for a flower shopping for my booth, printing a photo, and on my way to the show everyday.
